Nostalgia Final Process

For this project, I have printed an 18"x20" piece that I plan to cut up, distress and sew back together with pieces of died fabric.My "frame" is actually a mirror, which will force the viewer to glimpse at their own image, while looking at the one I have created...basically I am trying to get the viewers to place themselves in the image, and hopefully recognize things that trigger nostalgic memories.

Right now, I'm collecting and resizing my own image so that I can start to composite an image that brings back memories from my childhood, and hopefully invokes nostalgia in the viewer.

Final project concept

For this last project, I want to create a piece that invokes nostalgia. I plan to incorporate images that remind me of my childhood, and the memories that are starting to fade as I get older.

For my final print, I will be choosing one of these images. I chose sepia to bring back a sense of mystery that wasn't there, and to make it seem as if she is journeying into the unknown

For this piece I've been playing with masks to create a surreal setting for my friend to walk through. The idea of self change can be interpreted in several ways, one is that she is leaving something behind and journeying to an unknown location.
